Definitions

• "CERTIFY" refers to the individual use of, or the use in combination of, the CSN Sentry and CSN Validator services that are maintained by Cyber Secure Networks.
• "DATA" refers to Cyber Secure Networks response data that is presented to the consumer upon usage of the CSN Certify API.
• "RECEIVED DATA" refers to any and all data received from consumer through CERTIFY. This Received Data is classified as electronic communications for the purposes of the statement of TERMS.
• "PROTECTED DATA" refers to any and all data that is contained within the Cyber Secure Networks network that is not publicly available via query or through public facing user websites ( https://www.cybersecurenetworks.com )
• "ENDPOINT(s)" refers to the publicly available and accessible API programs residing on one of the Cyber Secure Networks' websites; https://secure.cybersecurenetworks.com and https://secure.cybersecurepayments.com ( the "Website", "Websites" ) that are presented and made available for utilization of the CSN SERVICES.
• "RULES" refers to the set of attribute checks configured by the account holder that include value matching and pre-configured outcomes. Rules also refers to the configurable pre-sets of "OFF", "LOW", "MEDIUM", "HIGH" that can be applied to any or all attributes.
• "PORTAL" refers to the website ( https://portal.cybersecurenetworks.com ) that is made available for CSN Account Holders to monitor, derive statistics, and manage their account and it's settings.
• "SANDBOX" refers to the testing and integration areas and ENDPOINTS that can be used during initial set up.

Appropriate Uses of CERTIFY

• You may not use CERTIFY in any way that violates federal, state, local. international law or the rights of others.
• You may submit data to CERTIFY only for the purposes of;
  • a.) testing the SERVICE in the SANDBOX
  • b.) testing your customer's attributes for filtering or eventual transaction result
  • c.) validating credit card transactions or other related services you may offer
  • d.) similar business purposes.
• Unacceptable uses of CERTIFY and the ENDPOINT(S) include, but are not limited to, the following;
  • a.) submitting queries designed to extract PROTECTED DATA from the ENDPOINT(S)
  • b.) submitting false or fictitious values including customer data, IP Address(s), and Credit Card data unless being done so in the SANDBOX
  • c.) submitting generated values ( from a program or manual process ) in an attempt to derive validity of these values
  • d.) using a robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to monitor or copy PROTECTED DATA
  • e.) building derivative databases based on the information provided by CERTIFY
  • f.) taking any action designed to compromise security or tamper with system resources and/or accounts
• If CSN finds or suspects that you are using CERTIFY in an unacceptable manner, CSN may immediately restrict, suspend, or terminate your use of SERVICES, PORTAL, or other related CSN websites. Activities that may trigger such a response by CSN include, but are not limited to; multiple submissions using similar or incremented values, multiple submissions occurring at a suddenly increased rate such that it is in line with what could be considered an attempt to render SERVICES unavailable, consistent and / or repeated submission of false or un-verifiable data suggesting an attempt to derive PROTECTED DATA.

Limitations

• cannot guarantee with 100% certainty that attribute derivation is accurate. The Internet is constantly changing and certain attribute classifications may be out of date or incorrect
• cannot guarantee with 100% certainty that Card Status, AVS results, or CVV results are up-to-date and accurate. This is reliant on the Issuing Bank having up-to-date records and providing an accurate response
• does not guarantee that all requests that will result in a Fraudulent or Decline outcome will be caught by filters within the system
• does not warrant that False Positives ( Decline returns from SERVICES on requests that would return as Accepted ) will not and can not occur
• does not take responsibility for, or liability for, customer set RULES and resulting responses

Security

Received Data

• ACCEPT or APPROVED. The proposed transaction has not matched RULES that are configured to result in a "REVIEW" or "DECLINE" result, or, has matched a "Whitelist" attribute to return an immediate approval
• REVIEW. The proposed transaction has matched RULES that have flagged it as needing a manual review, or, some action as defined by you.
• DECLINE. The proposed transaction has matched RULES, other configurations, or Validator response that has immediately identified the transaction as Fraud or Declined. This may be by a configured rule on a certain attribute, or, via the Validator Service and communication with an Issuing Bank
